If you love and appreciate Clair's body of work, but want an artwork customized to your fit your decor colors and style, or most often, the perfect size for a specific spot in your home or office, then a commission may be the right choice. Clair works person to person with collectors and designers to ensure she reaches the perfect outcome for the collector. She loves to paint pieces that have personal meaning, growth, symbolism. Maybe she can help capture your life story , or capture a favorite place that holds special memories. CLAIR also love to include children or a favorite pet if the painting subject fits. CLAIR also works closely with many collectors who want to surprise their partner with a painting for an anniversary or birthday. The following FAQs give you an overview of the process. Q. What does it cost to commission an artwork?
Generally, commissioned pieces are priced pretty close to comparable pieces in CLAIR's portfolio. There are no surprises and the contract or invoice spells out the details very clearly.

Q. How long does it take to commission an artwork?
The time varies, depending on the size, medium (oil takes more time to dry), the details of the piece. Typically you should count on 4 – 12 weeks for completion, however it may be longer depending on the CLAIR’s schedule.

Q. How is payment handled for a commissioned artwork?
Generally, CLAIR fine art require a 30% non-refundable deposit before CLAIR begins the work. The remaining balance is due upon delivery of the piece to your residence or business. CLAIR Fine Art is pleased to offer complimentary home delivery and installation in the local San Diego area.

Q. Will CLAIR work from my photograph?
Yes! CLAIR also may determine her own reference material for the creative design of any commissioned work. You will always be involved in the development of the idea and you will have the opportunity to approve sketches and the direction of the final artwork.

Q. Will CLAIR duplicate an existing piece of her portfolio?
Yes to some extent, however keep in mind that CLAIR’s desire to maintain the integrity of the unique quality of each original piece she creates. When dealing with original artworks, there are never EXACT duplicates, however CLAIR may mirror the concept, colors and subject matter of a similar artwork.

Q. May I visit with the artist to meet and discuss ideas?
YES! If you live in the San Diego area, you can meet privately at CLAIR’s home studio as many times as necessary. If you do not live in the San Diego area CLAIR can facilitate a video chat.
